Travel Influencer Aanvi Kamdar Passes Away In Waterfall Accident Near Mumbai

Aanvi Kamdar, a 26-year-old Instagram influencer from Mumbai, tragically passed away after accidentally falling into a 300-foot gorge at Kumbhe waterfall near Raigad, Maharashtra, while filming a video, authorities confirmed.

On July 16, Aanvi was on a trip to Kumbhe waterfall with seven friends when tragedy struck around 10:30 am. While filming a video, she slipped into a deep crevice, resulting in a tragic accident.

Local authorities promptly responded to the emergency, dispatching a rescue team to the scene. They also enlisted additional assistance from the Coast Guard, Kolad rescue team, and staff from the Maharashtra State Electricity Board.

“As soon as we reached the spot, we realised that the girl has fallen nearly 300-350 feet. Even after reaching her, it was difficult to get her up, as she was injured and it was raining heavily. So we decided to get her out using a vertical pulley,” a rescuer told NDTV.

Following a six-hour rescue operation, Aanvi was successfully extricated from the gorge. Tragically, despite efforts, she succumbed to severe injuries sustained during the fall shortly after being admitted to Managaon sub-district hospital.

In response, local authorities, including the Tehsildar and Managaon police inspector, issued an appeal to tourists and residents. They urged responsible tourism practices and emphasized the importance of prioritizing safety when exploring the Sahyadri ranges. They underscored the need to avoid risky behaviors that could jeopardize lives.

Aanvi, a passionate traveler and social media influencer celebrated for her enthusiasm for monsoon tourism, tragically lost her life while attempting to capture the allure of Kumbhe waterfall. Her deep affection for discovering nature’s marvels was evident in her widely followed social media updates and her dedication to sharing distinctive adventures with her audience.
