A tragic incident unfolded at Delhi’s Kalkaji Temple during Navratri celebrations, resulting in the death of one person and injuries to eight others following a stampede. The chaos erupted after a class 9 student, identified as Mayank from Ghaziabad, suffered an electric shock when a live wire fell on the crowd.

The injured were immediately rushed to Safdarjung and AIIMS hospitals for treatment. A video circulating online shows locals assisting the wounded in the aftermath of the incident. Following the tragedy, temple authorities briefly closed the temple, cut off the electricity, and repaired the fallen wire before reopening for devotees.

Police arrived at Kalkaji Temple shortly after the incident and have registered a case to investigate further. The tragic event took place just before the Navratri festival, as a large crowd of devotees gathered at the temple. The accident occurred when a halogen light wire snapped and fell onto an iron grill, causing electric shocks to seven devotees.
