Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Saturday that the state is continuing its firm action against Pakistan sympathisers, as part of India’s broader anti-terror crackdown. The latest update confirms the arrest of three more individuals by district police forces.

Arrests in multiple districts

The arrests took place in different districts of Assam. Here are the details:

  • Ajim was arrested by Karbi Anglong Police
  • Hasinur was arrested by Dhubri Police
  • Abdul was arrested by Lakhimpur Police

These individuals are believed to have expressed support for Pakistan or shown connections to anti-national activities.

53 in jail so far

With these latest arrests, the number of individuals jailed for sympathising with Pakistan has risen to 53, according to the official update posted at 22:30 hrs on May 11.

National anti-terror efforts continue

The announcement comes in the context of India’s ongoing efforts to combat terrorism. Reports suggest that over 100 Pakistan-based terrorists have been eliminated by Indian forces recently.
