Tej Pratap Yadav on Tuesday publicly congratulated his younger brother and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on the birth of his second child. This marks Tej Pratap’s first social media post since being expelled from both the party and his family following a controversial personal revelation.
Sharing a message on X (formerly Twitter), Tej Pratap wrote, “By the infinite grace and blessings of Shri Banke Bihari Ji, I have been blessed with the joy of becoming a Bade Papa (paternal uncle) upon the arrival of a newborn (a baby boy) in our family.”
He added, “Heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to my younger brother Tejashwi Prasad Yadav and Rajshri Yadav. My loving blessings and warm affection to my dear nephew.”
Controversial Confession and Fallout
The warm message follows a turbulent period for Tej Pratap. Days earlier, he made headlines after publicly confessing to a 12-year-long relationship with a woman named Anushka Yadav. The revelation came as a shock, especially since he is still legally entangled in a divorce case with his estranged wife, the granddaughter of a prominent Bihar politician.
After the confession went viral, Tej Pratap later claimed his account had been hacked. However, the damage was done. RJD patriarch Lalu Prasad Yadav issued a strong statement announcing Tej Pratap’s expulsion from both the party and the family.
Lalu posted on X, “Ignoring moral values in personal life weakens our collective struggle for social justice. The actions, public conduct, and irresponsible behavior of my eldest son are not in accordance with our family’s principles. Therefore, under these circumstances, I am removing him from the party and the family. Effective immediately, he will have no role of any kind in either. He is expelled from the party for six years.”
Lalu further added, “He is capable of judging what is right or wrong in his personal life. Those who choose to associate with him should make their own decisions. I have always supported accountability in public life, and obedient members of our family have upheld this principle.”
Tejashwi Supports Decision but Acknowledges Personal Autonomy
Tejashwi Yadav, the RJD’s prominent face in Bihar, also commented on the situation, showing support for his father’s decision. However, he acknowledged that his elder brother has the right to make personal choices.
“We cannot tolerate such things. We are working and are dedicated to the people of Bihar. If it’s about my big brother, political life and personal life are different. He has the right to make his personal decisions. He is an adult and free to make decisions,” Tejashwi said.
Tejashwi and Rajshree Welcome Baby Boy
Earlier in the day, Tejashwi and his wife Rajshree Yadav joyfully announced the birth of their second child, a baby boy.
“Good morning! The wait is finally over! So grateful, blessed and pleased to announce the arrival of our little boy. Jai Hanuman!” Tejashwi wrote on X, sharing a photo of the newborn.
The couple had welcomed their first child, daughter Katyayani, in March 2023. They tied the knot in December 2021.
