Three Tamil Nadu fishermen were injured in a pirate attack by six Sri Lankans on Sunday. The pirates reportedly looted their catch and fishing nets. The incident occurred near Akkaraipettai, and the fishermen were hospitalized with slash injuries.
The fishermen, Rajkumar, Rajendran, and Nagalingam, had set out for fishing when six Sri Lankan pirates in two fiber boats surrounded them, armed with weapons. The pirates assaulted the fishermen with wooden logs, stole their catch and nets, and fled the scene.
Rajendran suffered a head injury, Rajkumar was injured on his head and hand, and Nagalingam sustained blunt force injuries. The fishermen were rescued and taken to a hospital for treatment. Tamil Nadu police have registered a case and are investigating the attack.
