Aishwaryaa’s Bakeries in the Tamil Nadu bakery created an edible tribute to industrialist Ratan Tata. A tribute has come for Tata’s love of animals. This Christmas the bakery will craft edible sculptures of famous personalities. Their focus is Tata and his dog. Tata was the ex-chairman of Tata Group, who left the world on October 9, 2024. He was 86 years old. Tata had been an animal lover; there have been two dogs in his household, namely Tito- German Shepherd and Goa -the stray dog he befriended during his tours. Tito and Goa attended his funeral.
Aishwaryaa’s Bakeries has created a life-size ice cake sculpture featuring Tata in a blue shirt and grey trousers shaking hands with Tito, who holds a ball in his mouth. The nearly seven feet long statue is put on display in a glass case outside the bakery. Made from “60 kg of sugar and 250 eggs,” the sculpture is a reflection of Tata’s love for animals, especially his favourite dog Tito. It will be on display throughout the Christmas season.
The video of the tribute went viral on social media, garnering more than 1.4 lakh views and 80,000 likes on Instagram. While many praised the efforts of the bakery, some viewers made light of the dog’s expression, with one remarking, “Nice tribute but the doggo looks flabbergasted,” while another found the dog “a bit scary.
