NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the promotion of two distinguished judges to the highest court in the nation.
The Collegium has proposed Justice Nongmeikapam Kotiswar Singh, Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, and Justice R. Mahadevan, Acting Chief Justice of the Madras High Court, for appointment as Judges of the Supreme Court of India.
This recommendation is particularly significant as Justice Nongmeikapam Kotiswar Singh would become the first Judge from Manipur to serve on the Supreme Court if the recommendation is approved.
