In a distinguished honor, Anand Kumar, founder of Super 30, has been named the Honorary Ambassador of Korea Tourism for 2024.
The agreement was formalized in New Delhi on Wednesday, and Anand Kumar is scheduled to visit South Korea for the official ceremony at the Korea Tourism Organisation (KTO) office in Seoul.
“Myong Kil Yun, Regional Director for India and SAARC Countries at KTO, noted, ‘Anand Kumar, who has gained significant popularity in South Korea due to his groundbreaking Super 30 initiative, also had a best-selling book about his life published in Korean. The film ‘Super 30,’ featuring Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan, was based on his life.'”
Yun added that Kumar’s innovative work in education will inspire talented students to explore opportunities in South Korea. He highlighted that the initiative would allow Indian students, particularly those aged 14-18, to experience Korea’s rich culture, historic sites, and delightful cuisine, while parents can nominate their children for the Korea Super 30 program through an application process.
The appointment of Anand Kumar as the Honorary Ambassador is seen as a key step in enhancing cultural ties between India and Korea and expanding opportunities for students. Korea is also offering Korea Super 30 travel packages to facilitate student visits and cultural exploration.
Anand Kumar expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative, stating, “For me, it will be a new experience to be part of an international student exchange program. In today’s world, distance is no longer a barrier. I am eager to engage in this new campaign.”
He further remarked that his appointment as Honorary Ambassador is not just a personal accolade but a recognition of all teachers in India, reflecting the respect a technologically advanced nation like South Korea has for educators.
