Sundance Film Festival to be begin in January 2025

The 2025 Sundance Film Festival dates have been announced by the Sundance Institute. The festival will be held in Park City from January 23 to February 2, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

The Sundance Film Festival, organized by the Sundance Institute, is renowned as the largest independent film festival in the US. Eugene Hernandez, the festival’s director, expressed anticipation for the upcoming event, stating, “While the next Sundance Film Festival is still 10 months away, we’re already laying the foundation for the 2025 edition, looking ahead to sharing a new group of artists’ work with audiences at the start of next year.”

The 2024 Sundance Film Festival was held earlier, from January 18 to 28. With the festival moving later in January, it will coincide more closely with the Berlin Film Festival, scheduled from February 13 to 23.

The 2024 festival was seen as a significant return to form after challenges posed by the pandemic. Attendance by prominent figures and substantial dealmaking, including major acquisitions by Netflix, Warner Bros., and Searchlight, were highlights of this year’s event, as noted by The Hollywood Reporter.
