A powerful earthquake shook Delhi-NCR early Monday morning, startling residents. The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) reported that the tremors measured 4.0 on the Richter scale and struck at 5:36 am. The quake originated at a depth of 5 kilometers.

The earthquake impacted several locations, including Delhi, Noida, Indirapuram, and other NCR regions. According to NCS, the epicenter was at 28.59° North latitude and 77.16° East longitude. Despite its moderate magnitude, the tremors were widely felt across the region.

Political Leaders React on Social Media
Soon after the tremors, political leaders took to social media to confirm the quake. BJP leader Tajinder Bagga posted on X, “Earthquake?”

Similarly, Congress leader Alka Lamba shared a post expressing concern. Meanwhile, BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla stated that strong tremors were felt in Delhi and nearby areas.
Residents Share Their Experiences
People immediately turned to social media to describe the shaking. Many reported that the tremors woke them up. One person noted that the jolt was strong enough to “force you out of sleep.” Others mentioned that their beds shook violently. Surprisingly, despite the earthquake’s moderate magnitude, its intensity left many in shock.
