SIKH ACTIVISTS GO ON RAMPAGE ON CHANDIGARH-MOHALI BORDER

The atmosphere at the Chandigarh-Mohali border remained tense even on Thursday. Again a group of 31 members of Sikh organisation tried to enter Chandigarh. They had marched towards the house of Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann. Those who have been stopped by the police. After which the Sikh organisation sat on the same road and started reciting religious notes. After the ‘Path’ was over, the group demanded to go to Chandigarh, but they were not allowed.

After this the batch sat down to recite again. After reciting for about half an hour, the group shouted Khalistani slogans. Yesterday, the protesters had beaten the policemen with swords and sticks when they were stopped. In the FIR lodged in Chandigarh, the police claim that their weapons and tear gas guns were also looted. The police also said that there are 12 pro-Khalistani organisations among the protesters. Who also raised pro-Khalistani slogans. The police have booked the organizers of the protest under sections of attempt to murder.

The Chandigarh Police has booked the case for rioting, rioting with arms, unlawful assembly, obstructing public servant on duty, disobedience to public order, voluntarily causing hurt to public servant on duty, causing hurt, attempt to murder, dacoity. A case has been registered under sections of robbery, damage to government property, criminal conspiracy and Arms Act. Among those against whom cases have been registered are Jagtar Singh Hawara’s godfather Gurcharan Singh, Balwinder Singh, Amar Singh Chahal, Dilsher Singh Jandiala, Jaswinder Singh Rajpura, Rupinderjit Singh and others.

A case has been registered on the complaint of Sector 34 police station SHO Davinder Singh. According to the FIR, the attackers looted 20 barricades of the Chandigarh Police. Apart from this, tear gas hand gun and ammunition were also looted from the Vajra vehicle. A lot of goods were also looted from the Rapid Action Force vehicle and other vehicles. Police say that this attack was done under a well-planned conspiracy. Case registered under these sections in MohaliMatour police station has registered a case under the sections of attempt to murder, obstructing a government servant in his duty, causing injury, obstructing a government servant in his duty, rioting with weapons, unlawful assembly and criminal conspiracy. According to the police case, a large number of protesters had reached near the barrier of Sector 52-53. They included sharp weapons, swords, Khande, Gandase and Danda.
