Shocking Mumbai Kurla BEST Bus Accident: Man Removes Dead Woman’s Bangles Moments After Crash

A disturbing video has emerged from the recent BEST bus incident in Kurla, Mumbai, depicting a man allegedly taking gold bangles from a deceased woman’s hand just moments after the accident. In the unsettling footage, a man in a blue helmet is observed removing three gold bangles from the woman’s right arm, while other men stand nearby, seemingly aiding him, as the woman lies lifeless beneath a car.

The woman, recognized as Fatima Kaniz Ansari, 55, was among the seven victims who perished in the bus incident. Ansari, who worked as a hospital attendant, had been waiting outside a building on S G Barve Marg when the bus lost control and struck her, as per an official’s statement to PTI.

In the video, the man can be heard stating, “I have her mobile. ” The man asserted that he was assisting the woman and safeguarding her jewelry. However, Ansari’s family members reported that, while her mobile phone was returned, her bangles were taken by an unknown person.

After the video’s dissemination, Kurla Police launched an investigation and registered an FIR against the unidentified man under sections 303 and 315 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

The unfortunate accident took place around 9:30 pm on Monday when the driver of the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) bus, Sanjay More, lost control and collided with vehicles and pedestrians, resulting in seven fatalities and 42 injuries. Additionally, over 20 vehicles were also damaged.

In a separate CCTV recording, More is captured gathering two backpacks and fleeing through a broken window after the accident. He has since been arrested for culpable homicide not amounting to murder and is in police custody until December 21.

During interrogation, More mentioned that he had no prior experience with electric buses and received only one day of training, during which he drove the bus three times. Police have taken statements from 25 individuals, including the bus conductor, and investigations are ongoing. The electric bus will also be assessed for possible technical issues.
