Security forces launched a search operation in the Wanigam area of Pattan in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday morning, following reports of suspected militant activity in the region.
Acting on intelligence inputs, a joint team of the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police cordoned off the area, establishing security checkpoints at strategic locations in and around Wanigam.
A significant number of troops are currently engaged in comprehensive searches to locate any potential militant hideouts or activity. The operation underscores the ongoing efforts by security forces to maintain peace and security in the region, particularly in light of recent incidents of violence. Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement agencies as the search operation continues. Further updates will be provided as the situation develops.
