Scooty driver dies in road accident on Kalka highway

In a recent turn of events, a Pinjore resident had died in an alleged road accident on the Kalka highway on Saturday after a high speeding Activa collided with the driver and his wife. A case has been registered under sections 106 and 281 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at the Pinjore station.

According to information, the victim, identified as Vinod Kumar was travelling on the Kalka highway with his wife Pal Kaur on their scooter around 8 PM, when a high speeding Activa came in from behind without any honking and collided with the couple, severely injuring the driver in his head and legs. The accused, Manav, allegedly flew from the scene, while a group gathered around the couple, who later assisted them to the reach the General Civil Hospital. The driver was later announced dead around 2 A.M.

After enquiring with the police, the accused, Manav, another Pinjore resident, was arrested and claimed that further investigations are underway.
