Saina Nehwal & Rajkumar Rao Encourage people for Voting Action at Viksit Bharat Run

During the ‘Run for Viksit Bharat’ event, Indian badminton ace Saina Nehwal emphasized the significance of voting, stating that it is crucial for improving the country. Nehwal, alongside Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao and others, kicked off the Viksit Bharat run from the North Campus of Delhi University on Wednesday.

Nehwal stressed the importance of incorporating running into daily routines for fitness. She highlighted the significance of the Viksit Bharat run, expressing a desire for India to excel and become one of the world’s leading nations by 2047 or earlier. Nehwal also commended the achievements of Indian women across various field.

The badminton player reiterated the importance of voting, urging every eligible individual to participate for the country’s advancement. “Voting is crucial, so please exercise your right to vote and contribute to taking our nation to greater heights,” emphasized the ace Indian badminton player.

Actor Rajkummar Rao also attended the event and shared his sentiments regarding the ‘Run for Viksit Bharat’. “It feels great to return to my alma mater. We are all here for Viksit Bharat 2047. We are committed to this initiative to create more opportunities for everyone and build a better India for the younger generation,” expressed Rajkummar Rao.

The Bollywood actor, also serving as the brand ambassador of the Election Commission (EC), emphasized the importance of voting, stating that it is everyone’s responsibility to do so. “As the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 are underway, I urge everyone to go out and cast their votes as it is crucial for our democracy and our nation,” added the actor.

Around 5,000 students from Delhi University took part in a 2.4-kilometer ‘Run for Viksit Bharat’, aiming to contribute to India’s development into a developed nation by 2047, as per a statement released by the university on Thursday.

The event, graced by DU Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh as the chief guest, saw participation from students across various DU colleges. Organized jointly by DU and the Vikas Bharat Ambassador Club, the event’s arrangements were discussed during a meeting chaired by DU registrar Vikas Gupta.
