At least six men disguised as customers carried out a heist at a Tanishq showroom in Purnea, Bihar, early Friday morning. Armed with guns, they stole gold and diamond jewelry worth several crores, after overpowering the staff and locking them in a room. “They executed the robbery in an organized manner and escaped with the jewelry in just 20 minutes,” reported staffer Vivek. “Two of the robbers wore masks, while the others did not.”
The exact value of the stolen jewelry is yet to be determined, but it is estimated to be in the crores. “We are just grateful to be alive,” Vivek added.
Eyewitnesses noted that the robbers parked their motorcycles near a hospital 100 meters from the showroom. “Three of them left on one bike heading east, while the other three fled west,” the staffer said. “They had a large bag with them.”
Sub-divisional police officer Pushkar Kumar confirmed that six armed robbers on two motorcycles were involved in the heist. “We have alerted police stations in Purnea and neighboring districts to apprehend the suspects. CCTV footage from the showroom and surrounding areas has been collected,” Kumar stated.
