Reduced LPG Prices Effective From July 1, 2024; Will It Impact On Every Home and Wallet?

June has ended, and the month of July has begun. Like every month, this new month brings some changes (Rule Change From 1st July). These changes affect things like household budgets and credit card rules. Starting from July 1, 2024, the prices of LPG cylinders across the country have been adjusted. Oil companies have reduced prices for commercial gas cylinders to ease the burden. In Delhi, for example, the prices of 19 kg cylinders have dropped by up to ₹30 (LPG Price Cut).

Let’s explore these 5 important changes that will impact everyone’s home and finances.

  • LPG Price Cut: Prices of domestic LPG cylinders have been reduced again across the country. Commercial LPG cylinder prices have also been revised downwards by oil marketing companies from July 1, 2024. In Delhi, the 19 kg cylinder is now ₹30 cheaper at ₹1646. Similar reductions apply in Kolkata, Chennai, and Mumbai.
  • Credit Card Bill Payments: Starting today, July 1, 2024, new regulations require credit card bill payments to be made through the Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS). Platforms like CRED, PhonePe, and BillDesk will be part of this system, ensuring smoother bill payments.
  • SIM Card Porting Rules: TRAI has revised SIM card portability rules to enhance security, effective July 1, 2024. Users will now have to wait up to 7 days for replacement SIM cards in case of theft or damage.
  • Mobile Tariff Plans: Leading telecom companies like Reliance Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone-Idea are hiking their tariff plans effective from July 3-4, 2024.
  • Bank Holidays: The RBI has released the bank holiday list for July 2024, with banks remaining closed on 12 specific days across various states due to local events and festivals.
