Renowned journalist Rajeev Lochan Sah has been selected as the recipient of the Pandit Bhairav Dutt Dhulia Second Journalist Award. The selection committee unanimously chose Rajeev Lochan Sah, a senior journalist and editor of ‘Nainital Samachar’, from Uttarakhand for this honor. The award will be presented to him on May 19th in Lansdowne, Uttarakhand. Professor Shekhar Pathak will confer the award to him.
Himanshu Dhulia, the secretary of the foundation, stated that Sah has been serving Uttarakhand society through his newspaper for the past 47 years. ‘Nainital Samachar’ has played a pioneering role in every social movement and struggle since 1977. From the Chipko Movement (1977-82) to the Anti-liquor and Unemployment Movement (1984-85), and the Uttarakhand Statehood Movement (1994-95), Sah has consistently been at the forefront of reporting on all social issues. He has mentored many young journalists, grooming them into outstanding reporters.
