Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Diya Kumari tabled the Rajasthan Budget 2025 on Wednesday, announcing a slew of major schemes, such as free electricity and increased water supply schemes. She said 150 units of free electricity will be given under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, benefiting thousands of families. The state will also provide water connections to two lakh households, where projects worth more than Rs. 425 crores are currently ongoing.
Major Announcements in Rajasthan Budget 2025
While addressing the Rajasthan Assembly, Diya Kumari put special emphasis on the development of infrastructure and power generation in the state. She mentioned that the process of the Ram Jal Setu Link Project has already started, whose purpose is to enhance water management in the state.
Under Rising Rajasthan, more than Rs. 35 lakh crores of MoUs have been signed by investors, demonstrating their faith in the policies of the state. These MoUs will increase industrial and economic development in different sectors.
Chief Minister Jal Jeevan Urban Scheme to Strengthen Energy Sector
To make Rajasthan energy independent, Diya Kumari presented the Chief Minister Jal Jeevan Urban Scheme. This project is set to produce more than 6000 MW of power with a consistent supply of 20,700 MW to the public. The proposal also involves building 10-gigawatt power plants while removing dependency on costly power imports from other states.
Diya Kumari Calls Budget “Historic”
Before the budget announcement, Diya Kumari guaranteed that it would be a landmark budget with multiple advantages for Rajasthan people. She reiterated that every announcement would be implemented without wasting time.
“A very good and historical Budget will be tabled. There are going to be many gifts to the people of the state. These will not be mere announcements; we will make whatever we announce. It will be an inclusive Budget,” she added.
State Leaders Hail Rajasthan Budget 2025
Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Prem Chand Bairwa praised the efforts of the Bhajan Lal Sharma government, remembering that the last budget had been able to raise all sections of society.
“When the Budget of CM Bhajan Lal Sharma was tabled for the first time, it included all sections and sectors. It was for the development of Rajasthan. Six months from today, it can be observed being implemented to the extent of 90%. The Budget of today will also be for the development of the state and will incorporate all sections. It will be for a developed Rajasthan as envisaged by PM Modi,” Bairwa said.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma Examines Plans for Development
Meanwhile, a high-level conference to assess Jaipur development projects was recently conducted by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma at his home. This evaluation’s goal was to ensure that policies and initiatives outlined in earlier budgets were carried out on time.
As Rajasthan implements major energy and infrastructure reforms, the 2025 Budget lays the groundwork for a more autonomous and progressive state.
