Raipur hospitals hold Covid drill

The number of Covid cases across the country has been surging. The Chhattisgarh government doesn’t like to leave any stone unturned to control the spread of the deadly virus.

Therefore, a mock drill took place in all the district hospitals in Raipur on Monday to check the preparedness of the hospitals, and the response time was checked using a dummy patient.

Later, the dummy patient was moved to the Covid ward, and after that, all the medical machines and equipment were minutely checked.

District Hospital’s Corona Nodal Officer Nilay Mojarkar said, “The number of patients is increasing, but most of the patients are not serious.”

“We have started an ICU ward in the Covid-19 centre with 50 beds, out of which 18 are for very serious patients and 30 are for less serious patients. Oxygen facilities will be available on all beds. 12 to 13 ventilator beds are also available; the rest of the medicines and human resources have been ensured”, said the nodal officer.

Currently, most of the patients are coming with mild symptoms like a cold cough and fever, and no one is in a critical or serious condition yet and is expected to recover soon. Chhattisgarh reported 52 Covid cases on Sunday.
