Punjab Vigilance team searches for Manpreet Badal in corruption case

The search for Manpreet Singh Badal, who is charged with alleged corruption in the purchase of two plots in Model Town phase-1 Bathinda, led Punjab Vigilance teams to conduct raids throughout Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Uttarakhand, and Rajasthan.

The raids are in response to a court-issued lookout notice against Manpreet Badal. Police are concerned that Badal, who served as finance minister in the Congress government before joining the BJP, may have left the country.
After the vigilance agency filed a FIR against him on September 26, Manpreet Badal’s bail request was withdrawn.

A complaint was made against Badal in a case involving the acquisition of plots in Bhatinda’s Model Town, which sparked the beginning of the vigilance investigation into Badal. Sections 420, 467, 468, 471, and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code, as well as Section 13 (1) of the Prevention of Corruption Act and the Information Technology Act, were used to file the case against him.

The vigilance department has, in particular, issued a look out notice to prevent Manpreet Badal from leaving the nation. In addition to Badal, four other people have also been the target of cases. At least three suspects have been taken into custody by the Vigilance Bureau thus far: Rajiv Kumar (a resident of New Shakti Nagar), Amandeep Singh (a resident of Lal Singh Basti), and Vikas Arora (a resident of Tagore Nagar).

According to a Vigilance Bureau spokeswoman, Saroop Chand Singla, a former Bathinda city MLA, made a complaint against Manpreet Singh Badal and others, and the case was opened as a result.
