Punjab Minister Kuldeep Dhaliwal And Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan Discuss NRI Issues

In a significant move, Punjab NRIs Affairs Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal and Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan held discussions on key issues affecting Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) from both states.

Minister Dhaliwal, during his visit, highlighted their deliberations on allowing NRIs to purchase agricultural land, which is currently restricted to commercial land. They agreed to jointly approach the Union Government to seek a policy change that would benefit NRIs.
Additionally, both leaders urged the Union Government to ensure that Indian Missions worldwide are staffed with personnel proficient in the native languages of Punjab and Kerala. This would facilitate better support for NRIs from these states.

This collaboration underscores the commitment of both state governments to addressing the concerns of their diaspora community.
The Punjab delegation included Dulip Kumar, Principal Secretary of the NRIs Affairs Department Punjab, Praveen Kumar Sinha, ADGP NRI Wing Punjab, Paramjit Singh, Additional Secretary of the NRIs Affairs Department Punjab, and Darbara Singh Randhawa, Executive Director of NRI Sabha.
