Pune Porsche Crash: Juvenile’s Blood Sample Discarded, Different Sample Used

In a press conference on Monday morning, Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar revealed a startling development in the case involving the juvenile accused in the Porsche crash incident. According to Kumar, the blood sample of the minor suspect was discarded, and another person’s sample was used instead.

“On May 19th, around 11 am, the blood sample taken at Sassoon Hospital was thrown into a dustbin, and another individual’s sample was sent to the forensic lab. Chief Medical Officer Srihari Halnor replaced the original sample,” he explained.

Kumar further stated, “Our investigation revealed that Srihari Halnor acted on instructions from Ajay Tawre, the Head of the Forensic Medicine Department at Sassoon.”

As a result, two doctors from Sassoon General Hospital, including the head of the forensic department, were arrested on Monday for tampering with evidence in the case of the Porsche crash that killed two techies. Kumar told TOI, “We have arrested Tawre and Halnor for altering the blood samples and manipulating the reports. Our thorough examination of the hospital procedures uncovered the manipulation, leading to their arrests.”

Earlier, on May 25, the Crime Branch unit arrested the grandfather of the minor accused in connection with the accident. According to a complaint filed by the driver, Gangadhar, he was forcibly taken to the accused’s grandfather’s residence on the night of May 19 after leaving the Yerawada Police Station.

Gangadhar alleged that the grandfather and the father of the minor threatened him, seized his phone, and confined him in their bungalow, attempting to coerce him into taking responsibility for the accident instead of the minor.
