Pune Porsche Crash: ‘Didn’t Make A Single Call To Top Cop’,:Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar

Maharashtra deputy CM Ajit Pawar on Saturday denied he made phone calls to the Pune Police commissioner in connection with the Porsche accident case.

“I often call the commissioner of police over multiple issues but I haven’t made a single call to him in this case,” PTI quoted Pawar as saying.

Anish Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta, two software engineers, were struck by a Porsche that was allegedly driven by an intoxicated adolescent in the early hours of May 19 in Pune’s Kalyani Nagar.

Pawar further supported Sunil Tingre, the party’s MLA, who is accused of interfering to make sure the teenager got favorable treatment from the police.

“Sunil Tingre is an MLA of the area where the incident took place. Whenever such incidents take place, the local MLA often visits the site. Did Sunil Tingre try to suppress the matter? The allegations against him are baseless,” he added.

According to Ajit Pawar, the home department’s deputy chief minister, Devendra Fadnavis, gave the Pune police instructions to conduct a thorough investigation the day following the collision.

“Even the chief minister (Eknath Shinde) has given the right instructions. Action was taken against those police officials who initially delayed the procedure. Those from Sassoon General Hospital who were involved in the case have also faced police action,” he added.

Until June 5, the youngster is being housed in an observation home. The family driver was allegedly abducted by his father Vishal Agarwal and grandfather Surendra Agarwal, who then put pressure on him to accept responsibility. The two are being held by the courts.

In an effort to prove that the youngster was sober when the tragedy occurred, two physicians and a hospital employee from Sassoon have also been taken into custody. They are accused of exchanging the minor’s blood samples with his mother’s.

The mother of the accused adolescent was taken into custody by Pune Police on Saturday. The accident investigation, according to Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar, showed that the young person’s blood samples were switched with his mother’s.
