Protesters Clash with Police During ‘Nabanna Abhiyan’ March Over RG Kar Medical College Rape-Murder Case

Protesters demanding justice for the rape and murder of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital clashed with police and breached barricades in Santragachi, Howrah, today. The demonstration, part of the ‘Nabanna Abhiyan’ march, saw participants scaling police barriers and engaging in skirmishes with law enforcement officers.

The march, which began in the morning, was marked by vocal chants and passionate calls for justice as protesters rallied against the horrific crime. The tension escalated when demonstrators forcefully dismantled barricades set up by the police to manage the crowd.

As the ‘Nabanna Abhiyan’ continued, protesters gathered in large numbers at Santragachi, expressing their outrage and frustration over the case. The violent incident at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital has sparked widespread public anger, leading to several days of protests demanding immediate and effective action against the perpetrators.
