Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) is an initiative launched by the Narendra Modi government to make housing more affordable for people across income groups. The scheme has been upgraded under the PMAY-U 2.0 vision, after the revamping of the official website.
Applicants must check their income groups before applying to determine their eligibility and subsidy benefits:
Anyone with an income over Rs. 18 lakh or who owns a pucca house in India is not eligible, except if the house is under 21 sqm.

Here's how to apply the form online and offline.
Step 1: Visit the official website: pmaymis.gov.in
Step 2: Click on Apply for PMAY-U-2.0 and proceed. Read the instructions carefully.
Step 3: Check eligibility by entering key details.
Step 4: Provide Aadhaar details for verification.
Step 5: Fill the form, upload documents and submit.
Applicants can also use the mobile application, PMAY (U), to fill out the form. the app provides details of the scheme, updates, and beneficiary services. The app is also being upgraded with the addition of CLSS Tracker, which will enable applicants to track the status of their subsidy applications.
Applicants must note that the benefits of applying in PMAY-U 2.0 will only reflect after verification by state authorities.

The applicant can apply offline at the Common Service Centre (CSCs) or designated banks. Banks affiliated with PMAY also allow applications for home loans with subsidy benefits. A minimal fee of RS. 25 will be applied for the PMAY application.
