Police registers FIR against principal for molesting girl students in Haryana

In Haryana, the police have registered an FIR against the principal who molested the girl students by calling them into a room in a government school in Jind. Section 10 of the POCSO Act and Section 354A, 341, and 342 of IPC have been imposed against the principal based on the statement of 4 girl students. However, he has not been arrested yet. Police said in the case that the principal had molested and exploited the girl students.
The principal has already been suspended in this case. A departmental inquiry is also going on against him. Now an anti-sexual harassment committee has also been formed to investigate. The girl students had written a 5-page letter about the misdeeds of the principal. After it became public, action was taken against it.
Section 10 of the POCSO Act: This is considered serious sexual assault. According to this, if someone commits serious sexual assault on a minor, he will be punished with rigorous imprisonment for at least five years. This imprisonment can also be extended up to 7 years.
Section 354A of IPC: Under this section, acts like touching a woman inappropriately, touching her body parts, hugging, and putting hands on her waist come under the category of crime. This crime, which falls under the category of sexual harassment, can lead to imprisonment for up to 3 years.
Section 341 and 342: In both these sections, the wrongful stopping of someone has been considered a crime. In section 341, the punishment can be imprisonment for up to one month and in section 342, there can be imprisonment for up to one year.
If the principal is found guilty in all these cases, then he can be imprisoned for a maximum of 5 to 7 years under the POCSO Act.
