PM Modi’s Election Campaign: 180 Rallies and Roadshows Across India’s Political Heartlands

Upon his arrival in Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu, on May 30, Prime Minister Narendra Modi concludes a journey that began with his extensive campaign for the 2024 Lok Sabha election from the same location on March 15 this year.

The Prime Minister conducted a total of 180 election campaign events, comprising rallies and roadshows, during this election season. Impressively, within the span of 75 days of active campaigning, Modi maintained a pace of over three events per day. There were days when he held five events, and on 22 days, he managed four events daily, demonstrating his tireless commitment to campaigning across the entire country.

In May, the PM intensified his campaign efforts, conducting a total of 96 events.

FOCUS ON FOUR STATES, 88 EVENTS

Four states were central to PM Modi’s campaign, contributing to over half of all his public events during this period. Uttar Pradesh (UP) topped the list with 31 events, given its significance as the state sends 80 MPs to the Lok Sabha and remains a crucial focus for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The PM’s increased campaign efforts in Maharashtra, West Bengal, and Bihar also reflected strategic priorities for the BJP.

In Maharashtra, where BJP formed new alliances, Modi doubled his rallies from 2019, holding 19 events. West Bengal saw significant attention, with the PM aiming to improve BJP’s tally from the last election. Telangana also emerged as a key focus, with 11 events held there.

CAMPAIGN ACROSS THE NATION

PM Modi made substantial efforts in South India, particularly in Telangana and Karnataka, where BJP anticipates electoral gains. His campaign also extended to Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh, addressing various issues and sensing voter sentiment.

Additionally, he conducted rallies in his home state of Gujarat, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and the North-Eastern states. Jammu and Kashmir also witnessed one rally by the Prime Minister.
