PM Modi to Launch Key Manipur Projects Tomorrow; First Trip After Violence

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Manipur on September 13 to meet displaced residents, lay foundation stones and inaugurate projects worth Rs 8,500 crore, aiming to boost development and restore peace following prolonged ethnic violence.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also travel to Manipur on September 13, 2025, which will be his first visit to the state since the ethnic clashes over two years back. 
During the visit, he will launch projects worth Rs 8,500 crore, which will help improve development and usher in peace.

Chief Secretary Puneet Kumar Goel spoke on Friday and stated, "I would like to make a statement on behalf of the state government for the visit of the Prime Minister. The state government values the efforts of the people of Manipur, both the hills and the valley, for successfully progressing to regain peace and normalcy in the state. The Prime Minister's visit to the state will open the gates of peace, normalcy and faster growth in the state."

Following the official schedule, the Prime Minister Modi will reach Churachandpur by 11:30 am. He will begin with the interaction with Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), ground-breaking ceremonies for infrastructure development worth Rs 7,300 crore, and address a mass gathering at the State Peace Ground.

In the afternoon, the Prime Minister will visit Kangla in Imphal around 2:00 pm. There, he will once more mingle with IDPs, commission projects involving Rs 1,200 crore, and address another public rally.

"These initiatives reflect the continued commitment and devotion of the Hon'ble Prime Minister towards development and well-being of the state," the official statement read, inviting people to join in greeting him.

Billboards announcing the Prime Minister's programmes have already been placed at prominent spots, including Keisampat Junction in Imphal near the BJP's state headquarters. The Manipur government expressed hope that Modi's visit would help reinforce the progress toward peace and development across both hill and valley regions.
