PM Modi to chair NITI Aayog governing council meet tomorrow

The Eighth Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog, the government’s policy think tank, is scheduled to take place in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, on Saturday. The meeting will focus on the main theme of ‘Viksit Bharat @ 2047: Role of Team India’, as stated by the think tank in an official statement.

Additionally, significant topics such as Thrust on MSMEs, Infrastructure and Investments, “Minimising Compliances, Women Empowerment, Health and Nutrition, Skill Development, and Gati Shakti for Area Development and Social Infrastructure will be discussed during the day-long meeting.

The meeting will be chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who also serves as the chairman of NITI Aayog, according to a statement released by the organization. The event will be attended by chief ministers or lieutenant governors from all states and Union Territories, Union Ministers as ex-officio members, as well as the vice chairman and members of NITI Aayog.

In preparation for the Eighth Governing Council Meeting, the second Chief Secretaries Conference took place in January 2023, where these topics were extensively deliberated upon.
