PM Modi to address ‘One World TB Summit’ in Varanasi on 24 March

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to land in Varanasi on 24 March to address the ‘One World TB Summit’ on the occasion of World Tuberculosis Day at the Rudrakash Convention Centre. He is expected to address the summit around 10:30 am.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) and Stop TB Partnership have been organising the upcoming summit on TB. PM Modi will have a busy schedule. He is set to launch several initiatives, like the TB-Mukt Panchayat project

PM Modi will award selected states, Union Territories and districts for their distinguished work in the eradication of TB.

The One World TB Summit is a platform to set up a target to eliminate TB from the country. The summit will be an opportunity to showcase learnings from National TB Elimination Programmes. In this mega summit, delegates from 30 nations are likely to attend and share their experiences.

The theme of 2023 World TB Day is ‘Yes! We can end TB!” The day is observed every year across the world to increase awareness regarding TB and make an effort to eradicate this global epidemic.
