PM Modi Pays Tribute to Pranab Mukherjee on His 88th Birth Anniversary

Prime Minister Narendra Modi observed Pranab Mukherjee’s 88th birth anniversary, paying heartfelt tributes to the late stalwart. After serving in various key ministerial positions, Pranab Mukherjee became India’s 13th President.

PM Modi took to social media to honor Mukherjee, stating, “On his birth anniversary, I am paying homage to Shri Pranab Mukherjee, whose statesmanship and intellectual depth profoundly shaped our nation’s course.”

Recognizing Mukherjee’s invaluable insights and leadership, PM Modi highlighted the influential nature of their interactions and the enriching impact of Mukherjee’s dedication and wisdom. He acknowledged Mukherjee’s role as a guiding force steering India’s progression.

Born on December 11, 1935, in Mirati village, Birbhum District, West Bengal, Mukherjee hails from a family deeply involved in India’s freedom struggle. His father, Kamada Kinkar Mukherjee, also a Congress leader, actively contributed to India’s independence and faced imprisonment multiple times.

Pranab Mukherjee passed away on August 31, 2020, at Delhi’s Army Hospital (Research and Referral) Hospital, following surgery for a brain clot. Honored with the Bharat Ratna in 2019, Mukherjee’s legacy remains a significant part of India’s political and historical narrative.
