Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced during his two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir that preparations for assembly elections in the state have commenced.
Addressing the audience at the Empowering Youth, Transforming J&K event, PM Modi stated, “The people of Jammu and Kashmir elect their representatives at the local level, through them you find ways to solve problems, what can be better than this? Therefore, now the preparations for the Assembly elections have also started.”
He further added, “The time is not far when you will elect the new government of Jammu and Kashmir with your votes. That day will also come soon, when Jammu and Kashmir will once again make its future better as a state.”
PM Modi laid the foundation stone and inaugurated 84 developmental projects worth nearly Rs 1,500 crores during his visit. Additionally, he distributed appointment letters to over 2000 individuals for government jobs in the state.
Regarding the Parliamentary elections, PM Modi highlighted, “Youths of Jammu & Kashmir have ensured victory of democracy in this Lok Sabha polls.”
He is slated to participate in the 10th International Day of Yoga event at SKICC in Srinagar at 6.30am on June 21.
