Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing a massive gathering in Gaya on Friday, underlined India’s new defence resolve through Operation Sindoor. He declared, “Operation Sindoor has drawn a new line of India’s defence policy,” adding that India will ensure that no adversary goes unpunished. “Even if terrorists are hiding in the depths of hell, India’s missiles will track them down and eliminate them,” he said, drawing strong applause from the crowd.
He recalled his first visit to Bihar after the Pahalgam terror attack, where he had vowed to reduce terrorists to dust. “That resolve, made on the holy land of Bihar, has been fulfilled,” Modi said. He also highlighted how Pakistan’s frequent drone and missile attempts failed, stressing, “India scattered Pakistan’s missiles in the air like twigs, and not even one could harm us.”
Paying tribute to the state’s rich history, Modi said Bihar was the land of Chanakya and Chandragupta Maurya, who shaped India’s ancient strength and strategy. He added that Bihar has always been the backbone of the nation, and any resolve taken from this land carries the strength of the entire country.
Alongside his defence remarks, the Prime Minister launched a development package worth ₹13,000 crore for Bihar. These projects cover a wide range of sectors—energy, transport, housing, and healthcare.
Key highlights include:
Healthcare: Inauguration of a new hospital and cancer research centre in Gaya, improving access to advanced treatment for thousands of patients across Bihar. Modi said, “I get the greatest happiness from removing difficulties from the lives of the poor and making the lives of women easy.”
Energy and Infrastructure: Projects to improve power supply, connectivity, and industrial growth, ensuring long-term economic benefits.
Employment Opportunities: The initiatives are expected to create thousands of jobs for youth across the state.
During the ceremony, Modi symbolically handed over house keys to several beneficiaries of the PM-Awas Yojana, marking a milestone in his government’s housing mission. He reiterated his commitment: “Until every needy person gets a pucca house, Modi will not sit.”
So far:
Over 4 crore houses have been built across India under the scheme.
In Bihar alone, more than 38 lakh houses have been constructed.
In Gaya district, over 2 lakh families have received permanent homes.
On Friday, over 16,000 families in the Magadh region received keys to their new homes.
Each house comes with electricity, water, and gas connections, ensuring dignity and comfort for the beneficiaries. Modi noted that these homes are more than just brick structures—they restore self-respect for poor families.
Highlighting the timing of these allocations, Modi said the new homes will make festivals like Diwali and Chhath Puja more special for thousands of families. “This time, the joy of Diwali and Chhath will shine even brighter in the homes of these families who have got a pucca house,” he remarked.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the “double-engine government”—the BJP-led administration at both the Centre and the state—has been continuously working for Bihar’s growth. He said these new projects will not only modernize Bihar but also place it on a stronger path of industrial progress, creating opportunities for the youth and improving the quality of life for ordinary citizens.
