Physics Wallah files plea in SC, seeks panel to examine NEET SC

Due to alleged irregularities in NEET UG exam this year, students are protesting at many places including Lucknow, Jaipur and Patna. The matter has become so heated that coaching institutes and political faces have also jumped into this fight of students.
Alakh Pandey, CEO of ‘Physics Wallah’ is also continuously raising his voice regarding the irregularities in NEET UG examination. On Tuesday he has filed a plea in the Supreme Court.
The petitioner has sought direction to the constitution of an expert committee under the supervision of this court to inquire into the examination process and results of NEET (UG) 2024.
The petitioner further sought direction to the expert committee to come up with improvement in the process of conducting NEET examination and without hampering or imperilling the interest of the other students. NTA to take necessary steps to make the process of conducting NEET examination without any loopholes, the plea said
This petitioner said that the plea has been filed under Article 32 of the Constitution of India by the petitioner who is an educationist. The petitioner being an enlightened citizen strongly believes in the rule of law and in view of the fundamental duty prescribed under Article 51A (j) of the Constitution of India, to protect and improve the NEET (UG) Examination has filed the present writ petition as a public interest litigation without there being any personal interest on the subject of the same, the plea said
The petitioner further stated that the cause of action for filing the present writ petition arose on 04.06.2024, when National Testing Agency (“NTA”) has declared the result of National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Under Graduate) [“NEET(UG)”], 2024. The declaration of result was soon followed by news of number of concerns involving grant of grace marks, abnormally high scores, high number of 100% scores, high cut-off scores etc, the plea said
He claimed that candidates started raising number of queries relating to the non-transparency in the manner in which the results had been declared.
