Pawan Khera Celebrates Early Leads, Declares Congress Set to Form Government in Both States

As early trends in the Assembly elections pointed to positive news for the Congress in both Haryana and Jammu & Kashmir, Congress leader Pawan Khera expressed optimism, calling it a moment of celebration. He confidently stated that the party would secure a full majority and form the government in both states.

“This is just the beginning; wait and watch. We are confident we’ll be celebrating with laddus and jalebis all day. In fact, we’ll even send jalebis to Prime Minister Modi,” Khera said, exuding confidence in Congress’ ability to claim victory in both Jammu & Kashmir and Haryana.

At the Congress office, scenes of jubilation unfolded as supporters danced to the beat of dhol-nagada, celebrating the encouraging early numbers. Party workers attributed their confidence to Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra and Nyay Yatra, which they believe resonated strongly with the public by advocating for farmers, women, laborers, and promoting inclusivity across all communities.

Congress worker Jagdish Sharma said, “The entire country is congratulating us, even BJP supporters. This is a victory for truth and a defeat for lies. People appreciate Rahul Gandhi’s efforts to stand up for farmers, women, and laborers. His message of unity is winning in both Haryana and Jammu & Kashmir. It’s clear that Prime Minister Modi’s government has run its course.”

In Jammu, TS Tony, Congress candidate from the Bahu Assembly seat, echoed this confidence, asserting that the Congress-National Conference (NC) alliance was on track to secure a two-thirds majority. “The people have seen through the lies. What was once a city of temples has been turned into a city of liquor under the BJP, all in the name of revenue. The public is fed up with the liquor and land mafia. The BJP has betrayed their trust and is destroying democracy. The appointment of five MLAs should be done by an elected government, not arbitrarily by the Lieutenant Governor,” Tony said.

As the counting continues, the Congress remains optimistic about securing victory in both states.
