Pathankot on High Alert: Security Forces Intensify Search for Suspected Terrorists ; Sketch Released

Security forces in Punjab are on high alert following reports of seven suspected terrorists sighted in Phangtoli village, Pathankot. The Indian Army and local police have launched a joint operation to secure the area after discovering footprints of the suspects.

The authorities have issued a sketch of one suspect and are asking the public to report any sightings. The village is under tight security with a large number of personnel conducting a thorough search.

Local resident Seema Devi reported a suspicious encounter where individuals from a nearby forest asked for water at her home. They also inquired if she lived alone before returning to the woods. This prompted an immediate police investigation.

Footprints believed to be from the suspects have been found, leading to an intensive search for their hideout. The region remains under heavy surveillance.

Pathankot, a historically sensitive area, was previously targeted in a major terrorist attack at the Pathankot Airbase in January 2016. This history has heightened security measures, with additional forces deployed to prevent any further incidents.

Authorities are working to ensure safety and have emphasized the need for vigilance in response to this potential threat.
