Actor Pankaj Dheer, who was renowned for his role as Karna in BR Chopra's 1988 television classic Mahabharat, died on Wednesday at 68 following a cancer battle. Co-stars and fans from all corners of the industry lament the actor's demise.
Dheer had a multi-decade television career, which included popular roles in Chandrakanta, Zee Horror Show, Badho Bahu, Kanoon, and recently Sasural Simar Ka. His filmography also included Soldier, Andaz, Baadshah, and Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge. His commanding presence on screen and ability to play varied characters cemented his position as an eternal part of Indian entertainment.
Pankaj Dheer's legacy extends to his family. His son, Nikitin Dheer, is a popular Bollywood actor, while his daughter-in-law, Kratika Sengar, has established her presence in television. Pankaj was also the son of director CL Dheer, giving him an even deeper connection to India's film heritage.
