In anticipation of a bumper harvest this coming season, the Union Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution has set ambitious procurement targets for the Kharif Marketing Season (KMS) 2024-25. The ministry has announced a target of 485 lakh tonnes of paddy, marking a significant increase from the 463 LMT procured during the 2023-24 season.
