In a strong speech in Saudi Arabia, AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi spoke out against Pakistan for supporting terrorism and propagating lies regarding Indian Muslims. He rejected Pakistan’s assertion of speaking for all Muslims, pointing out that India comprises 240 million proud Muslims.
“Pakistan has 240 million proud Indian Muslims, that is Pakistan’s false propaganda that India is causing them harm. This is the most tragic that Pakistan sends a wrong signal to the Muslim world and the Arab world – that we are a Muslim nation and India is not,” Owaisi asserted.
Call for Pakistan to Dismantle Terror Networks
Owaisi called for Pakistan to eliminate extremist organizations to achieve stability and peace in South Asia. “If Pakistan eliminates these takfiri terrorist organizations, there would be stability in South Asia, there’d be progress in South Asia,” he emphasized, highlighting the importance of regional peace.
He also requested the international community to reinclude Pakistan in the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list, which would restrict more financial monitoring to curb terror financing.
Warning Against Pakistan
Owaisi warned that Pakistan is still training terrorist groups and creating religious tensions in India to destabilize the country. “The entire task is to destabilise India, to have more Hindu-Muslim riots,” he said.
In order to reveal Pakistan’s connections to terror, Owaisi held up a picture with the Pakistan army chief sitting next to a US-declared terrorist. “When this individual (Asim Munir) was promoted to be a Field Marshal in Pakistan, a US-declared terrorist named Mohammad Ehsan sat next to the Field Marshal. There are pictures of him with his hand being shaken by this field marshal,” he explained.
Indian Multi-Party Delegation Visits Gulf
Owaisi is among a multi-party Indian delegation headed by BJP MP Baijayant Panda visiting Gulf countries at present. The delegation consists of BJP MPs Nishikant Dubey, Phangnon Konyak, Rekha Sharma, independent MP Ghulam Nabi Azad, Satnam Singh Sandhu, and Ambassador Harsh Shringla.
The mission of the delegation is, firstly, to apprise Gulf nations of India’s counter-terrorism policy and, secondly, to react to the terror attack of April 22 in Pahalgam. Moreover, they are there to counter misinformation regarding India’s human rights policy towards Muslims and, consequently, reinforce the country’s firm stance on dealing with terrorism.
