As part of Operation Sindoor, Bengaluru authorities conducted a major civil defence drill named Operation Abhyas (Operation Exercise) across multiple locations in the city. The drill was initiated following directions from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
Emergency teams simulate rescue operations
At exactly 3:48 pm, a siren signalled the start of the operation. Teams from civil defence, police, fire brigade, and emergency services quickly took action, executing coordinated drills such as fire rescue, debris removal, high-rise evacuations, and medical emergency support.

The full drill lasted for about 30 minutes, providing a realistic test of the city’s emergency preparedness. Officials said the aim was to ensure swift coordination between various departments during real-life threats or natural disasters.
