The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested 3 people in connection with Wednesday’s multi-state raids as part of ‘Operation Dhvast,’ which was launched at 324 locations across eight states in the terrorist-gangster-drug smugglers’ network cases.
The NIA raided 129 of the total 324 locations searched as part of a coordinated crackdown conducted by the agency in collaboration with the Punjab and Haryana Police.
Those apprehended by the NIA are from Moga (Punjab), Bhiwani (Haryana), and Delhi’s North-East District. Parveen Wadhwa of Bhiwani, Irfan of New Seelampur, and Jassa Singh of Moga have been identified as the accused.
Investigations into Irfan alias Chenu’s activities revealed his involvement in a terror conspiracy involving gangster Kaushal Choudhary and his associates, including Sunil Balyan alias Tillu Tajpuria. Following the raids that resulted in the recovery of arms, he was charged as an accused.
The NIA has established Jassa Singh’s role in the Khalistan terror conspiracy in his case. According to NIA investigations, he delivered a Pistol at the request of Arsh Dalla.
The raids on Wednesday were part of the NIA’s ongoing crackdown on terror networks, as well as their funding and support infrastructure, for which the agency has been investigating three cases since August 2022.
