One terrorist has been killed as an intense operation continues in Sopore’s Rampora area, North Kashmir, where security forces engaged militants in a gunfight early Saturday. Acting on specific intelligence, a joint team comprising the Police, Army, and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search operation, swiftly narrowing in on suspected militant positions.
As the forces approached, the militants opened fire, sparking a fierce exchange. A senior police official confirmed the killing of one militant, while at least two others are believed to be cornered in the ongoing encounter.
This operation comes on the heels of another clash in Sopore’s Sagipora area yesterday, in which two foreign militants were killed. Security remains on high alert across Sopore as forces intensify efforts to stabilize the region and prevent further escalation.
