A total of 12 bombs were found in a goods wagon at Kantabanji Railway Station by the security personnel of Odisha’s Balangir district. The cell bombs were discovered on Tuesday during a routine security inspection.

Bombs Traced Back to Ordnance Factory Badmal

Reports indicate that the recovered explosives were manufactured at Ordnance Factory Badmal (OFBL) located in Saintala, where arms, ammunition, and explosives are manufactured. However, the officials are not sure how those bombs came to lie inside the railway wagon.

The investigators are checking the contents of the shipment since shipments carrying these kinds of stuff are always kept under maximum security. These bomb explosions have become a great matter of concern related to railway security and safety procedures.

Police Officials Start Probe

Officials have conducted an in-depth investigation into the incident, investigating security breaches so that such may not happen in the future. The strange incidents surrounding the removal of the bombs have increased observation of the explosive materials during conveyance.

However, the government has promised more information as the investigation continues.
