The second Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Lord Ram will take place in Ayodhya on Thursday, June 5. This time, the event will install Raja Ram and other deities in the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple. The first Pran Pratishtha happened earlier in January 2024.
To begin with, the three-day celebration started on June 3. The final ritual will take place on June 5. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will attend as the chief guest. The Anjaneya Sewa Trust is in charge of the event. Notably, the main ritual will start at 11 a.m. on Thursday.
CM Adityanath to Lead the Ceremony
Moreover, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will lead the Pran Pratishtha of the Ram Darbar on the temple’s first floor. Interestingly, this event also falls on his 53rd birthday.
Meanwhile, Shashikant Maharaj, who heads the Anjani Seva Sansthan, explained the rituals. According to him, the ceremony will begin with Vedic chants and a havan. In addition, the CM will perform the symbolic ‘uncovering of the eyes’ of Lord Ram and Sita’s idols.
Tight Security, But Temple Open to Devotees
Despite tight security, daily darshan of Ram Lalla continues for devotees. Authorities have begun verifying residents of unauthorised settlements. Furthermore, security forces like the CRPF, SSF, and PAC are patrolling the area.
Prasad Prepared in Large Quantities
To mark the special occasion, 62,000 prasad boxes are being sent from Lucknow. Speaking about it, Kshitij Gupta, Marketing Head of Chhappan Bhog, said, “We have made Barfi with a mixture of chickpeas and Moongdal.”
White Marble Idols Ready for Installation
In the Ram Darbar, idols of Lord Ram and Mata Sita will be placed on a two-foot-high white marble throne. Additionally, idols of Hanuman and Lakshman will be seated beside them. All idols and the throne were made from white marble in Jaipur.
Architecturally, the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir follows the traditional Nagara style. Its walls feature beautiful carvings of Hindu deities. For context, the Ram Darbar is 4.5 feet tall.
Lord Ram’s Attire Designed by Expert
Furthermore, Lord Ram’s idol will wear a crown, embroidered clothes, and jewel-studded belts. Designer Manish Tiwari created the outfit. He used zari and precious stones to enhance the look.
Restricted Entry to Maintain Sanctity
To preserve the temple’s sanctity, only a limited number of devotees can visit the first floor. On the other hand, the second floor will display versions of the Ramayana in several languages, including the oldest one.
Earlier Event Focused on Child Form
Earlier this year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the temple on January 22. At that time, the idol represented Ram’s child form. As Mahamandaleshwar Vishnu Das explained, “On January 22, ‘Pran Pratishtha’ was done for the ‘baal roop’ (child form) of Lord Rama, now it is Raja Ram (King Ram).”
