A chilling road rage attack in Noida’s Sector 53 became viral after a video caught a Mahindra Thar SUV brutally ramming into a man, sending him crashing into a roadside drain. The video that emerged on Tuesday ignited a public outcry and witnessed an immediate police response.
Police said the fight was over a dispute on social media, specifically on Instagram. “There was a rivalry between the two groups in the Sector-24 police station area to post comments on the social media site. Both groups know one another,” quoted Sumit Kumar Shukla, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP), Noida, on NDTV.

Shocking Footage Shows Brutal Impact
The video of the accident captures a youth with a head wound walking on the road, a brick in hand. His forehead has oozing blood on it. Out of nowhere, a speeding Mahindra Thar knocks him from behind, throws him into a drain passing by. The clip raised new concerns over the rising street violence in Noida.
Victim, Saurabh, then lodged a police complaint. Police also identified the accused as Akash Awana, Aman Awana, Gaurav Chauhan, and Kunal Chauhan.
Fight Started on Instagram, Culminated in Attack
Saurabh said that he and his brother Sumit, who are property dealers from Sector-49, were heading towards Logix Mall through Kanchan Janga Bazaar. The accused group obstructed them near the Bijli Ghar (power house), allegedly assaulted them, and shoved the SUV into them.
Live Hindustan reported that Sumit and Saurabh were injured in the attack. The altercation, which was sparked by an exchange of comments on Instagram, snowballed into a physical fight.
Police are probing the case and have pledged to take rigorous legal action against the perpetrators. The video has created fresh demands for tougher action against road rage and violence inspired by social media.
