NIA attaches 4 immovable properties of 11 accused in Pune in ISIS module terror case

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has seized four immovable properties belonging to 11 accused individuals in the Pune ISIS module case, categorizing them as ‘proceeds of terrorism’. These properties, located in Kondhwa, Pune (Maharashtra), are associated with 11 accused persons, including three who are currently absconding, according to the NIA’s statement on Sunday.

The NIA stated that this action is a significant step towards fulfilling its objective of dismantling the networks of global terrorist organizations operating within the country. The agency highlighted that the four properties were being utilized for activities related to IED fabrication, training, and planning of terrorist acts.

All 11 accused have already been charged by the NIA in connection with the case. The properties, which include residential houses and flats, have been attached under Section 25 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. They are linked to individuals such as Mohammed Imran Khan, Mohammed Yunus Saki, Mohammed Shahnawaz Alam, Md. Rizwan Ali, Kadir Dastagir Pathan, Simab Kazi, Zulfikar Ali Barodawala, Abdullah Faiyaz Shaikh, Talha Liyakat Khan, Shamil Nachan, and Aakif Nachan.

The case pertains to an ISIS conspiracy to carry out terror attacks in various locations across Maharashtra, Gujarat, and other parts of India. The activities involved IED fabrication, training workshops, reconnaissance of jungles for firing practices and hideouts, as well as raising terror funds through armed robberies and thefts.

The NIA emphasized its commitment to dismantling terrorist networks associated with proscribed global terrorist organizations and safeguarding India’s interests. It noted that investigations into ISIS conspiracy and activities are ongoing.
