NCR Transport Corporation Launches Campaign to Boost Voter Turnout in Lok Sabha Polls

In an effort to motivate commuters to exercise their democratic privilege in the upcoming parliamentary elections, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has initiated a campaign ahead of the polls slated for Friday. This initiative aligns with the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) diverse efforts to involve and empower citizens to play an active role in the electoral process.

Aligned with the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) manifold initiatives to engage and empower citizens for active electoral participation, NCRTC’s campaign offers passengers a unique incentive. Those who participate in the electoral process will qualify for a complimentary upgrade to the Premium Coach aboard the Namo Bharat train, transitioning from the standard coach. To avail of this opportunity, passengers simply need to purchase their standard coach ticket via the ‘RRTS Connect app’ and present their inked finger to the station staff stationed near the AFC gates of the Premium Lounge at the platform level. This exclusive offer is valid only on April 26th.

Namo Bharat train, comprising six coaches, features one premium coach alongside five standard coaches. Passengers who reserve their tickets through the ‘RRTS Connect App’ for the standard coaches are exclusively eligible for this upgrade. In resonance with the ECI’s ‘Chunav Ka Parv, Desh Ka Garv’ campaign aimed at bolstering voter participation in the General Elections 2024, this initiative endeavors to foster a collective sense of community and civic duty among travelers by emphasizing the importance of active engagement in the electoral process. NCRTC presents passengers with an opportunity to relish the heightened comfort and convenience afforded by the Premium Coach aboard the Namo Bharat train.

The Premium Coach aboard the Namo Bharat trains offers spacious and comfortable seating, complete with cushioned recliners and charging points at each seat for commuters to stay connected and entertained without interruption. Enhanced with commuter-friendly amenities like coat hooks, magazine holders, and footrests, this coach ensures a pleasant journey experience.

Currently, a 34 km segment between Sahibabad and Modi Nagar North along the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor is operational, encompassing eight stations: Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai, Duhai Depot, Murad Nagar, Modi Nagar South, and Modi Nagar North.

With construction advancing rapidly on the remaining sections of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor, NCRTC remains steadfast in its commitment to delivering a cutting-edge transportation system by the projected operational deadline of June 2025.
