Mohan Bhagwat Warns Against ‘Superhuman’ Dreams: Focus on Constant Self-Improvement

RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat gave a significant speech on Thursday, urging people to focus on self-improvement and warn against the temptation to see oneself as “superhuman.” He spoke about the dangers of ambitious dreams that could lead to seeking roles like “superman,” “devta” (deity), “bhagwan” (god), or even “vishwaroop” (universal form).

Here are the key points from his speech:

  • Caution Against Superhuman Ambitions: Bhagwat warned against aspiring to be “superhuman” and stressed the importance of working hard for human development. He said that such ambitions might lead people to desire roles beyond their reach, like wanting to be a “superman,” “devta,” or “bhagwan.”
  • Importance of Constant Effort: Bhagwat emphasized that the development of oneself and society is a never-ending process. He encouraged everyone to keep striving in areas like environment, education, and health. He said, “Work should continue, and one should always strive to make the world a better place.”
  • Role of Individuals in Society: He advised that people should focus on their work and efforts for the greater good rather than seeking recognition or power. He encouraged those dedicated to societal welfare to share their knowledge and insights with others.
  • Confidence in India’s Future: Bhagwat expressed confidence in India’s future, stating that collective efforts are leading the country towards prosperity and global admiration for its peaceful and happy way of life.
  • Historical Context: Reflecting on history, Bhagwat pointed out that past attempts to achieve happiness and peace over 2,000 years had failed. He highlighted that India’s traditional way of life, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic, has shown the world a path to peace and happiness.

On Thursday, during a village-level workers meeting organized by the non-profit Vikas Bharti in Gumla, Jharkhand, Mohan Bhagwat spoke about the importance of continuous self-improvement and warned against the dangers of aiming to become “superhuman.” He pointed out that such ambitions might lead one to desire roles like “superman,” “devta,” or “bhagwan,” which are beyond human reach.

Bhagwat stressed that there is no end to personal or societal development. He said that people should always work hard for the betterment of humanity and should never be satisfied with their achievements. He encouraged focusing on areas like environment, education, and health to make the world a better place.

He also spoke with optimism about India’s future, stating that there is hope because everyone is working towards improvement. Bhagwat reflected on how previous historical attempts to find happiness and peace failed, but India’s traditional way of life offers a clear path forward, especially evident after the pandemic.
