Minor Hangs Himself in Mumbai Following Dispute Over Mobile Gaming

In a heartbreaking incident in Mumbai, a 16-year-old boy took his own life after his father reportedly prevented him from playing mobile games. The tragic event unfolded in the Malad Malwani area.

According to police reports, the teenager was hooked to mobile games and frequently played late at night. Around 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, his father interfered, taking away his phone and telling him to go to bed. In reaction, the troubled adolescent allegedly threatened self-harm if he wasn’t allowed to play games.

The next morning, the father discovered his son hanging by a scarf from the ceiling. He rushed the teenager to a nearby hospital, but sadly, he was declared dead upon arrival.

Malwani Police took the father’s statement and filed an Accidental Death Report (ADR). The incident underscores the importance of addressing mental health concerns among youth and the potential impact of excessive screen time on vulnerable individuals.
